As many of you know, with the new redistricting, Congressman Gus Bilirakis will be representing our district through December. We have a new champion in Congress that will be on the ballot for Citrus County this November, Congresswoman Laurel Lee.

Donalds Votes to Ban Congressional Insider Trading and Secure the Ballot Box
WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) voted to pass a legislative package combining the Stop Insider Trading Act and the Voter ID Act, which bars members of Congress from purchasing new individual stocks and seeks to secure our federal elections with common-sense, nationwide Voter ID.
“We are putting an end to self-enrichment in the halls of Congress. If you are elected to serve the people, your focus should be on your constituents, not your personal stock portfolio,” said Congressman Byron Donalds. “I am proud to stand with my Republican colleagues in the House to ban congressional insider trading and secure our federal elections with common-sense, nationwide Voter ID.”
Background on H.R.7008 – “The Stop Insider Trading Act”:
Passed the U.S. House of Representatives with a vote of 232-198.
The Stop Insider Trading Act, sponsored by the House Committee on Administration, was introduced on January 12, 2026. The Stop Insider Trading Act bans Members of Congress and their immediate families from purchasing individual stocks and forces them to provide public notice 7 to 14 days before selling existing assets, with strict financial penalties for any violations.

I was honored to participate in the documentary and discuss my work to strengthen protections for children and families through the bipartisan ADOPT Act.
As a former family court judge, I have seen firsthand how important it is to ensure every adoption is handled with transparency, integrity, and the best interests of the child at the center of every decision. The ADOPT Act would strengthen oversight of unlicensed adoption intermediaries, improve accountability, and help protect birth parents, adoptive families, and children from exploitation.

Dear Fellow Floridian,
I have great news for everyone who takes prescription drugs: this week my bipartisan Consumer Labeling for Enhanced API Reporting and Legitimate Accountability for Base Entity Listings (CLEAR LABELS) Act passed out of the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee!
The bill — which would require country of origin labeling requirements to the U.S.’s prescription drug supply chain — passed the committee with a bipartisan vote of 21-1. Now it’s time for the House to pass it and send it to President Trump for his signature.
Americans deserve to know where their medicine comes from. Many prescription drugs, and their active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), are manufactured overseas in countries with lower safety standards like Communist China and India, and current federal labeling requirements do not require disclosure of where those ingredients or finished products are made. That’s why I have been fighting hard to protect America’s drug supply and give American consumers transparency.
This is also a matter of national security. We shouldn’t be dependent on Communist China for anything. They hoarded critical medical equipment during the pandemic and left the rest of world hanging out to dry. As long as they’re entangled in our supply chains, they can always do it again. We can’t let that happen. A country that cannot supply itself cannot protect itself.

In addition, this week the Patients Deserve Price Tags Act also passed through the Senate HELP Committee with overwhelming bipartisan support. This legislation would require hospitals and insurers to publicly disclose healthcare prices, giving patients the ability to compare costs before receiving care. Too often we see patients get stuck with outrageous medical bills or patients who decide not to seek the medical care they need due to hidden prices. This bill will end this practice and give the American people the clarity they need to make their own medical decisions.
The bottom line is that the American people deserve transparency in their healthcare system, both in drug labeling and in pricing overall. They deserve a medical system that works or them and serves them as patients, not just profit centers. That’s the healthcare system I believe in, it’s the one I always tried to provide in my hospitals, and it’s the one I promise to keep fighting for as your U.S. Senator.

Senator Rick Scott introduced the Safeguard Kids Act, a bill to educate American K-12 students on risks posed by artificial intelligence (AI) and allow Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Federal Block Grants to fund AI literacy and specialized counseling programs.
Senator Rick Scott said, “Artificial Intelligence has the potential to be the greatest information innovation since the printing press, but technology is only as good as our ability to use it well and for the right reasons. We cannot let AI be the wild west and hope our kids figure it out; that doesn’t work. It’s on us to guide them as they grow. Hello, all... Just keeping my word as promised on providing updates on my latest literary project for those interested in my latest literary work. Outside of political books, I write military suspense, human-interest, and adventure novels. Attached to this email is the final draft of the script I signed off on for the video trailer promoting my latest adventure-filled Allure of Roses Project. This project is centered on two adventure novels I authored and the booklet I wrote to promote them. The novels are centered on two famous paintings lost at sea while being transported on two different cargo ships that sank, many years apart. One of the paintings being sought by professional treasure hunters is The Rose of Enchantment. If recovered intact and in excellent condition, it is said to be valued at around $250 million. The second painting, the frantic hunt is on for, which is also the subject of the sequel to the first novel, is known as The Essence of Cinnamon. If this painting is recovered intact and in excellent condition, it is valued at around $320 million.
As some of you may know, an accomplished, legendary Hollywood Producer and former MGM and Columbia Studios Executive has taken a great interest in this project and is personally writing the screenplay for the first novel. His name is Peter Anthony Andrews. The script I am sharing with you today focuses on the two novels as presented in the third booklet titled, The Model, The Author, His Wife, The Artist & The Producer. As with anything involved and time-sensitive, I labored over the script and got it done within 24 hours. I had to make this the pitch of my writing career.... Not sure if I accomplished that, but I gave it my best try... The dialogue required for these promotional trailers is short and has to take into account the visual aspect of the trailer.
I had to envision what was needed in the script, wrestled with it once I decided on it, and then I wrote it and finalized it. Sophia, my lead graphic and video designer/guru, is going to see to it that the trailer drops sometime in June or July with all of the fanfare of a major Hollywood movie premiere. I wrote this script to be as dramatic as any suspense movie trailer that was ever made. The script is divided into the narrative section with the accompanying visual I envisioned and approved, which mirrors the written narrative. When all of this is put together in the video trailer, I will share it with you. I do this for the love I have of writing and for the love and passionate support I have for those who inspired me... WHY AMERICA
Over the years a theory has been that the United States of America was another of God’s chosen nations. Just as Israel was God’s chosen nation and people to provide the world with a Savior, the USA may have been chosen to evangelize the world.
Considering such a possibility, in this 250th year as a nation, it’s time we realized this very precious and unique assignment given to us by our Creator.
America has been blessed with the ability to “preach this Gospel to all nations” (Matthew 24: 14). America has the financial resources, communication and transportation methods, the physical abilities and knowledge to do so.
We have been given a special gift in this land. God must have a specific purpose. The old world had existed for centuries without the knowledge of the existence of the western hemisphere. Why does America exist as it does?
In a brief survey of the history of the Western Hemisphere, the world as the Europeans and Asians knew it; this side of the planet did not exist until about 500 years ago.
Here we are approaching the 2000 year point since Jesus ascended into Heaven. Time wise and chronologically, it is time for something to happen. With the geo-political conditions and prophesies happening, it appears many of the “end of the age” predictions are occurring.
Wars are on many fronts. The world population is so out of control, prophesy of famines and pestilences (Matthew 24: 7) are a certainty. Knowledge has increased (Daniel 12: 4) and the characteristics of mankind (2 Timothy 3: 2-5) are witnessed daily all around the world.
Many believe the return of Jesus is imminent but people have been thinking this since He ascended. So the question remains: Is the USA a specified nation to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the world?
The early settlers (1600’s) found a land rich in resources. After their existence in Europe this new found continent must have seemed like Heaven.
The heavily forested land provided wood/lumber to build everything from a baby cradle to sailing ships. The abundant woodlands provided fuel for heating and cooking. Trees provided maple syrup and homes for the abundant wildlife that provided food.
Bernhard Eduard Fernow, a German American forester, is credited with saying “Civilization is built on wood from the cradle to the coffin.”
Resources such as iron, copper, lime, coal, wood, cotton and wool provided the raw materials necessary for manufacturing. In later years Eli Whitney developed the system of interchangeable parts (1798), which was a forerunner of the moving assembly line (Henry Ford 1913) and the stage was set for the greatest manufacturing economy the world had ever known.
With the many lakes and rivers, the inland of the new world was conveniently traversed. Water as a resource but also a method of transporting products and people became a lifeline for the new nation.
A large part of the USA is in a temperate climate zone. The warm humid summers make the growing of crops in abundance a reality. From Illinois to Colorado, millions of acres of farm land feed the American people and a part of the rest of the world.
Conditions in the south-eastern U.S. are perfect for growing crops from peanuts to cotton to sugar cane. Many areas are favorable for rice, wheat and barley. For this new nation to feed itself wasn’t easy but was possible for an industrious and inventive people.
Those migrating from Europe were not expecting the climatic and natural resource conditions that existed here. But what they found was a paradise for the hard working, freedom loving people they were. They came here expecting to work, not looking for an easy life.
They also came here with an intention of bringing Christianity to this new land. Missionaries came with the knowledge of Savior Jesus and the desire to spread His gospel.
One of the early missionaries was Jacques Marquette, a Frenchman determined to teach the indigenous peoples the saving power of Jesus Christ.
The study of Marquette reminds me of the Apostle Paul. Life would have been so much easier to stay home, sit back and watch the flowers grow. But no! Those believer-followers of our Jesus felt so strongly about the truth and authenticity of God Jesus (John 1: 1-3), they were compelled to share that knowledge.
Can Christians in the twenty-first century feel that compassion? Jesus’ last words before ascending were Acts 1: 8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” This new world became to them “the uttermost parts.”
Could Christians in today’s busy world have that passion? Fortunately, some do but it takes more than a few in our world of over eight-billion people. “Urgent” is a word that greatly applies in this case.
Without a belief in our Jesus and the teachings of the Holy Bible the world will continue to degrade into a Sodom and Gomorrah condition.
Perhaps the United States of America IS God’s chosen nation to evangelize the world. It takes time, money and a burden for the spiritually lost. Every Christian has a personal testimony and the knowledge of the Christian plan of salvation.
We must realize we are all sinners (Romans 3: 23), that we must confess to God we are sinners (1 John 1: 9). We must repent of our sins (Acts 3: 19), and ask God to save us.
The Bible teaches there is only one eternal salvation. That is by a faith based belief (Ephesians 2: 8) that Christ Jesus was crucified (Matthew 27: 35) for the remission of sin (Romans 4: 25), resurrected (Matthew 28: 6) and ascended alive into Heaven (Acts 1: 9).
