Dear Fellow Floridian,
This week, I had the privilege of attending President Trumpโs State of the Union Address, marking just over a year since he took office and began his work to bring America into our Golden Age.
Together, weโve accomplished a lot in the last year. Our border is secure, we passed historic tax cuts for families and small businesses, including No Tax on Tips and No Tax on Overtime, and delivered more money for our seniors receiving Social Security. President Trump has done an incredible job fighting to defeat the inflation caused by the Biden administration. But the fight to lower the cost of living, unleash American manufacturing to create American jobs, and make our country respected again on the world stage is something we must commit to every day. These are real changes that have a life-changing impact on American families and Floridians who are working hard to live their American Dream, and it is my top priority as your U.S. senator to ensure every Floridian has that opportunity.
What was shocking to see was the number of Democrats who, when given the opportunity, refused to stand in support of these policies or of the SAVE America Act, a commonsense bill that would ensure only U.S. citizens voted in our elections. They even refused to stand when the president asked if they agreed we should put Americans first over illegal aliens.
President Trump was right to remind them who they were sent to Washington to represent โ the American people! As Floridaโs United States senator, I will ALWAYS fight to put your best interests first. Itโs why I feel so strongly that we must get the SAVE America Act passed, and I am committed to keep working with the president to lower the cost of living and Make Washington Work better for YOU.

While we, as a nation, and the world, are focused on the Middle East and Iran, there is an equally important danger that has been festering just below our southern borders. A few days ago, it exploded in a major way when Mexican military forces killed Nemesio Rubeฬn Oseguera Cervantes, โEl Mencho,โ one of the worldโs most wanted cartel leaders. Most of us likely saw the fiery aftermath of his killing as his army of thugs retaliated throughout Mexico, burning, killing, and terrorizing citizens and businesses. These are ruthless, heartless, and fearless hombres who will maim, torture, and kill at the drop of a dime. The fear is that what we witnessed in Mexico could spill into our own neighborhoods. So, as the saying goes, do we fight them here on our soil, or theirs before they can come after us? Donald Trump believes we should take them on, but on their turf. As we all know, these narco-terrorists, through the drugs they smuggle into our country, have killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. Other presidents have done little or nothing to stop this madness and these deaths. This president is like no other. He has conviction. And he knows he has at his disposal the most lethal military force on the planet, and perhaps in all of history. Do we fight, or do we submit? That is the question.
So, who are these cartels that know no fear and believe they can put Satanic fear into our hearts as they have with their fellow citizens? They are thugs who fear no police force and no military they have gone up against. Through bribery and corruption of public officials in Mexico, they have grown in numbers and have thrived under such conditions, conditions they brought about through fear, intimidation, and death. These dangerous cartels go by the following names... Cรกrtel de Jalisco Nueva Generaciรณn, Cรกrtel de Sinaloa, Cรกrtel del Golfo, La Familia Michoacana, Cรกrtel de Santa Rosa de Lima y Cรกrtel de Juรกrez. To date, they have not been introduced to our boys, as far as we know. I believe this will happen sooner rather than later. They have already kidnapped 10 mine workers who were geologists, mineral specialists, scientists, and so on. Five of them were found dead, and five are still missing. Why should we care about this? At this point in time, silver is the coveted metal of all nations. Thereโs a major shortage that already exists. In many countries, including the United States, silver has been labeled a critical material vital to our national defense. Any disruption of the flow of silver is considered by Washington to be unacceptable and will not be tolerated. And let us not forget the loss of life as a result of the drugs smuggled inside our borders, these fiends have caused. I believe most of us want peace and goodwill throughout the world. But there is evil in the world. Sometimes we are forced to stand up and fight for what we believe in. These disciples of Hell couldnโt care less what we Americans believe in. As such, these cartels are about to be introduced to our Special Forces in a major way...
The command has already gone out to Delta Force, SEAL Team Six, U.S. Air Force Combat Controllers, CIA, and DEA Special Tactical Teams, and the 160 SOAR. Their orders are to go after these cartels with or without the consent of the host country and take them down. On standby are U.S. Army Rangers, Army Green Berets, Marine Raiders (MARSOC), Navy SEALs, and the United States Coast Guard. We can never underestimate these narco-terrorists, but our boys have taken on and taken out bigger fish with names like Al Qaeda, Hamas, Boko Haram, Hezbollah, Al Shabaab, and ISIS. Only time will tell who will prevail in the end, the cartels or us. Most agree that something has to be done. The question is whether this is the path we should go down. I believe itโs worth a try... I know our capabilities and what we can do as a nation. And I trust our boys to do the job... What about you? WHY FEAR?
Joshua 1:9 โHave I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you goโ.
Some men fear death! Some fear life. Some fear other men while others fear pain and many fear uncertainty. Fear of disease or fear of poverty may be the summit of the fears of many and fear of the future may bring other to tremble.
Some jump out of airplanes; others face wild animals or poisonous snakes. Why do some appear to have no fear while others allow their fears to destroy their lives? Why will some engage in a business venture while many are content to work for another in the safe haven of a weekly paycheck?
These questions are impossible to answer because every person has a thinking mind, different experiences and separate ancestral proclivities.
Are some fears common sense? Of course! In the early 2020โs we feared covid. We took precautions to keep from contracting the virus. Certain actions are engaged in to alleviate our fears while others are out of our control.
Many in the world today fear cancer. That of course is somewhat justified. We can take precautions to quell that fear with a sensible diet, an active lifestyle and having the right ancestors. That ancestral choice is not ours to make but we know from observation, family history seems to be a link.
Guilt can lead to a state of fear. Guilt is said to be the most wasted emotion. For the believer in a crucified and resurrected Christ Jesus, sins are forgiven.
1 John 1: 9 โIf we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.โ To fear the afterlife is unnecessary because of this absolute promise of our Creator.
In the 23rd Psalm verse 4, David wrote โYea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.โ The presence of God in Davidโs life prevented fear.
Isaiah 41:10 โFear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.โ
We have scriptural assurance of the unwarranted feeling of fear. God gave us a mind to analyze the sources of our fears and eliminate them.
If any character in the Holy Bible had a reason to fear it was the Apostle Paul. In spite of his certain future of physical pain administered by those opposing the teaching of the Gospel of Christ, Paul trudged on with his God given purpose.
2 Corinthians 11: 24-26 โOf the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep. In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren.โ
Paulโs body must have been a mass of scar tissue having been flogged five times. Because of Paulโs encounter with Jesus on the Damascus Road (Acts 9: 3-6), he was of a certainty of the reality of salvation through Christ Jesus.
Paul had no doubts of the reality of Christโs divinity and His power. Can we have that assurance? Of course we can through faith. Faith is a belief system and among our greatest gifts from God.
Many of us have found our greatest weapon against fear is prayer. When we encounter those (many times superfluous), reasons for fear, prayer is constantly available. God never hides or sleeps!
Over five billion people in our world have not found the solace of life offered by Christ Jesus. Did Jesus fear? Luke 22: 44 โAnd being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.โ The man Jesus knew fear because of His immediate future (Hebrews 5: 7).
He could have called twelve legions of angels (Matthew 26: 53) and stopped His inevitable future, but He did not. He went, voluntarily, sacrificially to the cross for the sin of all mankind.
We do not face crucifixion as did Jesus. We do not face the flogging whip as did Paul. Our fears seem miniscule in comparison.
If oneโs greatest fear is death or the process of dying, consider the depth and promise of Revelation 21: 4. โAnd God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.โ
We have the promise of God written by the Apostle John. That place called Heaven awaits the believer in Christ Jesus (John 14: 1-3).
It surely appears many Christians fear greatly the command of Jesus before ascending (Acts 1: 8-9) and that is to tell others about Him. With our world eroding further into chaos as we watch, the only solution for survival beyond total anarchy is our Jesus.
We must not have fear of our verbal witness of the teachings of the Holy Bible, Godโs word. Matthew 28: 20 โTeaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.โ We are not alone!
The Bible teaches there is only one eternal salvation. That is by a faith based belief (Ephesians 2: 8) that Christ Jesus was crucified (Matthew 27: 35) for the remission of sin (Romans 4: 25), resurrected (Matthew 28: 6) and ascended alive into Heaven (Acts 1: 9).
