U.S. Service Academy Applications Are Open Until September 17th!
Dear Floridian,
We are one month away from our U.S. Service Academy Application deadline!
Over the last several years, our office has interviewed hundreds of amazing candidates from around the state, and selected the best and brightest to represent Florida in our nation’s service academies.
All applications and required documents must be submitted and received by our office no later than Sunday, September 17th, 2023. To provide equal opportunity for all applicants, our office will not accept any late submissions, no exceptions. We ask all applicants to plan accordingly to meet the deadlines, and check our website regularly for updates.
We will be accepting applications for students interested in attending U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy West Point, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy for the Class of 2028.
As a Navy veteran myself, I understand the sacrifice it takes to serve in our nation’s military, and am grateful for the opportunity to support young Floridians eager to attend our service academies.

Jack Martin Announces Run For Congress, District 12
Jack has been a 25 year resident of our district, coming to Spring Hill to pastor Praise Assembly of God. He is married to his Bible College sweet heart Dee. This June 5 they celebrated their 40th anniversary. They have been blessed with six great kids and one grandchild so far. Jack at 19 was the chief Shop steward of an AFL-CIO union in Newark New Jersey. At 23, he became the Inventory Control supervisor at Mesker Clark International Fire Door sales in Cranford, New Jersey. Following the tragic death of his best friend Jack chose to go into ministry. It was in Bible College that he met his wife Dee. In their final year, they pioneered Calvary Assembly of God in Fordland. Returning to New York, Dee’s home state, they pastored first in Salisbury Center, New York and then Gowanda New York outside of Buffalo. There Jack was both church pastor, and Principal of Gowanda Christian Academy a K-12 private School. Jack founded the Niagara Frontier Christian Athletic Association while there. In 1997, they chose to move to Florida to assume the pastoral ministry at Praise where they served for 22 years. When they arrived, the church was in debt. Over their years, they paid off the building early and when they retired the church has 70 thousand in the General Fund and with bond certificates that needed to be turned in they left 72 thousand in the building fund. At Praise Jack created the Fire Dept. Chaplaincy at Spring Hill Fire Rescue and later again at Hernando County Fire Rescue. Where he served for 17 years while pastoring at Praise. He was asked to serve simultaneously on the ESF-8 State of Florida Emergency Response team. Responding to state disasters. On the political front, Jack is a Black Robe Regiment pastor and has been since 2006. He has been a participant in Pulpit Freedom each of the years it took place outside the first year. Where he would record his sermon, which would violate the Johnson Amendment, and then mail it to the IRS challenging them to take him to court. He won a State attorney General ruling when an effort was made to have his chaplain’s page removed from the Fire Dept. page. Also, there he was advised often by the board lawyer not to pray in Jesus name, but each time he prayed it was in Jesus name. In 2016, He fought the school board in Marion County to retain biological gender as the basis for bathroom use. In 2018, he fought to retain the job of a gym teacher in Pasco who would not watch a girl change with boys in the locker room, and he is currently working to get a biological identification policy established in Hernando County. Jack stepped up to run believing his background and his ability to stand would help start the return to normal for our state and nation.

Frank Lovell - What Can We Do?
The first to die for Liberty was Christopher Snyder an 11-year-old boy who was a member of the Sons of Liberty, shot dead by a customs officer firing his gun into a crowd of protesting people in the streets of Boston in 1770. They were just asking to be treated fairly & equally as was their right as British subjects. The Sons of Liberty was a loosely organized political organization essentially about the lack of representation in the British govt. just people looking to better their lives. However, the King soon displayed they were not equal subjects, which resulted in the long journey to Liberty.
What most call a Make America Great Again (MAGA) element in society which those on the left feel the need to consistently attack. Foremost is the fact many are not strictly a ‘member’ of MAGA. Many are just Americans looking to make their lives better regardless of politics. Many who have gone a step further to realize this is a point in history where people need to stand for the preservation of this Constitutional Republic, they are just Americans from all elements in our society preserving a quality of life as they know it. The left only sees the opposition to them as MAGA, they fail to realize much of the opposition is coming from the left as well, their actions are so severe that people are placing country over party, etc. What is known as MAGA & the Sons of Liberty have a lot in common, the effort to be treated fairly & better their life.
It seems to me whenever a natural disaster occurs its location is telling. If it is in a blue state, the fed govt performs perfectly to support the state as it should. However, if that disaster occurs in a red state that same support is greatly lacking. It seems to point the govt is biased against red areas when it comes to disaster relief. Now we have Maui Hi a blue area ignored by govt. Maui reduced its maintenance of the power grid to divert $ to green energy concerns ignoring its history of falling lines causing fires. Water management refused to supply water to the fire department & they failed to activate the community alarm system to notify residents of an emergency. So, when they say the fires were started by climate issues, the reality is the fires were caused by the Democrats ‘climate policies,’ & their failure to act responsibly causing people to die & suffer.
We now have US Attorney David Weiss appointed ‘special prosecutor’ over the Biden investigation. This is the same person who instructed IRS investigators not to investigate the Bidens, the one who allowed the statute of limitations to expire on two Hunter Biden investigations, the one who drafted the total immunity Hunter plea deal which a judge rejected. First, this appointment is illegal, a special prosecutor according to the law must not be employed by the government. Second, this move hinders the House investigation into the Bidens. Now the govt response to Congress will be they cannot release or discuss info because that matter is ‘under investigation’ it’s a very effective cover-up to prevent the further release of info before the 2024 elections. Remember the world-famous, wealthy comedy actor Charlie Chaplin, did ya know the Justice Dept accused him of being a communist, ended his career & drove him into exile? Many years later he was proven innocent, if an out-of-control Justice Department can do that to him, imagine what they can do to you. In 1971 the Washington Post journalists exposed the FBI’s practice of spying on American citizens, 52 years later nothing has changed, paying attention to history gives insight into the future.
The critical question is, who should be President & Vice President to preserve America? President is a no-brainer to me, for VP Vivek Ramaswamyso or SD Governor Kristi Noem. I trust Trump & Noem based on their proven leadership & Vivek for his vision of America, to continue our goal of creating ‘a more perfect union’ as our Founders declared so long ago, that is the leadership we need. By the way, the Dem party will turn on Biden, they know they can’t win with him, the problem they have is who can?
The recent summit between the US, Japan & S Korea is good for America, it reinforces our security in a dangerous area close to China. For once this govt has engaged in a policy that strengthens America, I just wish all their policies did that.
What we can do for America is contact everyone we know to make sure they are aware of what is happening in America. Contact all your representatives in govt to assure they are representing your concerns. It is critical that we have a lot of common sense in the 2024 elections.

Van Yandell - WHEN YOU FALL, TURN LOOSE
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
In the eighties and into the nineties, I rode with a bicycle club. Several times each year we rode century rides. A regular century is 100 miles and a metric century is 62 miles (100 kilometers).
One ride we did at least once each year was from an agriculture station in our home county to Nashville, Tennessee. The route for the ride was south on Highway 41. On one of those rides just past the Tennessee state line, a friend and I were riding along about 16 miles per hour.
I drifted a little behind him and my front wheel hit his rear wheel. My front fork folded and I found myself in the air going over the handlebars. I landed on my right leg on a very rough paved highway. The skin was removed from my right shin about the size of an elongated baseball.
The first aid kit in our sag wagon (support vehicle) contained rubbing alcohol. The driver poured the “disinfectant” on my leg and the fire began.
A friend riding with me asked if I played football in high school or college. “No. Why?” He explained I fell like I had training on how to fall. “You mean there is a right way and a wrong way to fall?” I asked.
He told me one of the first lessons in training for the football season was how to fall. One very basic rule is to not try to catch one’s self. Many falling injuries are to hands, wrists and arms because people instinctively try to catch themselves.
Another basic rule is to turn loose, relax and let your body go where it will. Injuries, of course, are mainly from impact (especially if any height is involved). When you realize the fall is inevitable, it is best to turn loose. If we tense up, the fall is more likely to result in injury.
To roll with the fall is another technique used to avoid injury. With the chin tucked down to lessen the possibility of a head injury, knees bent, hips up, roll with the fall. This of course is not always possible, but when conditions allow, it has saved many from serious injury.
These techniques are not natural but can be developed. Hopefully most of us are not going to be involved in falling as much as a football player so the natural reaction may take a while to develop.
Athletes and military people are not the only ones needing training on how to fall. The elderly need to be aware of how to fall. As we grow older, aches and pains tend to weaken us and make falling more likely. In many elderly, bones have become brittle and a fall resulting in a broken hip or pelvis can lead to death.
Having had healthy ancestors also adds to the equation but all are not fortunate in that area. Doctors and scientists urge us to keep up our exercise programs even into our old age. Two key factors in longevity are proper nutrition and exercise.
Yesterday, I was moving a load of wood in a wheelbarrow. I hung a foot on a stump and the only way to go was down. My bottom lip hit the edge of the wheelbarrow tub and split it open. Bleeding profusely, I managed to sneak by Margie and get to a sink and clean myself up before she saw me.
Falls like my wheelbarrow mishap happen fast and one cannot always think that quickly. The art of falling for an athlete becomes instinctual and the letting go becomes a natural reaction.
Learning how to fall is important but having the determination to get back up and carry on is equally important. Philippians 3: 14-15 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
We all will fall in the spiritual realm of life. It is comforting to know our Creator is a God of second chances and we all need those second chances. Falling is inevitable but getting back up and pressing on is essential.
We fall from those basic rules and guidelines of living, of being civilized and, of course, those rules of righteousness set forth by God.
Matthew 28: 20b “Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” How comforting it is to continually know our Jesus is always with us ready to forgive, bless and comfort. He is the “rock of our salvation” and His wish is to be a part of our lives.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” He gives us a strength for which there is no comparison.
Falling away from that which is right happens to all of us and basically, the same rules apply as to an athlete falling in a game. Turning loose of ourselves and giving it to God is not a natural human reaction. But when we realize we cannot do it ourselves, giving it to God is our only reasonable solution.
At times, we humans stumble and fall from the will and commandments of God. Our flesh is our greatest natural enemy. Perhaps our Creator made us this way so we would be humbled and require redemption. God has a plan for our lives and our transgressions may very well be a part of that plan.
Many of us have to reach rock-bottom before we could reach out to God. In prison ministries, we realize most of those in services are at the low point in their lives. The serious find a new or renewed relation with the Savior is their only hope.
Our greatest relationship with our Creator Jesus (Colossians 1: 16) is our eternal salvation. He wants us to believe in what He did to save our souls. Christ Jesus was crucified for the remission of sin and resurrected.
The word “whosoever” in John 3: 16 includes ever one of us. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
Romans 3: 23 places all of us on a level playing field. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” The Glory of God is in His righteousness. We all fall short of that righteousness because we are weak and susceptible.
The wiles of the devil are constantly out to destroy us and it is only by a sustained level of perseverance and determination we can overcome. Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armor of God; that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
We can all be assured, when God has us He will not give up on us (John 10: 28-30). We can rest assuredly God is faithful to His word. He has promised us eternity and when we fall, He will always be there to pick us up. Romans 10: 9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Yes, like millions of others, I’ve been listening to Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Men North of Richmond” on repeat for days. I can't seem to get enough of it. It's a passionate cry from average people against exploitative elites, with lyrics that reach so deeply into the heart and soul that they elicit tears.
The whole presentation is perfect: melody, lyrics, singer, setting, and sensibility. It’s pure magic and hits the sweet spot of our times.
I’m also feeling a great joy from seeing the song rocket from nowhere to the No. 1 most downloaded song in the English-speaking world, including the UK and Australia. It's the cry of the masses against what has been done to us.
It touches on all of the themes: inflation, welfare, substance abuse, suicide, totalitarian ambitions, the lack of representation, and even the sensitive subject of the blackmail of politicians by Jeffrey Epstein’s horrible business. For this latter point, the song is being denounced as QAnon, whatever that means.
Just as preposterous is the claim that this is about “right-wing influencers” manipulating working-class populations. That isn't it at all. Right-wing influencers don’t have the power to make a song go from nothing to No. 1, much less push four other songs by the same artist into the top 10. Mr. Anthony is suddenly higher than Taylor Swift on the charts, and the reason is simple: He's telling the truth and thus earning trust.
This song has rocked the world only a week after the song/video “Try That in a Small Town” by Jason Aldean traveled a similar trajectory, and was therefore widely denounced by the legacy media. They used all the usual smears: racist, fascist, etc. This is what they call people who simply want their lives back.
And this happened only a few weeks after the film “Sound of Freedom” pushed its way out of the censorious claws of Disney to become one of the top-earning films in the United States. Even my thoroughly "woke" local theater was showing it nonstop simply because it needed the money.
And this happened after Bud Light was dethroned as the No. 1 beer and threatened the profitability of the biggest brewer in the world, which is now being forced to sell off eight of its most popular brands just to get revenue in the door.
They said none of this would work. It did work. Now, the elites are paying attention. Indeed, they're terrified. Rightly so.
Meanwhile, some of the biggest companies and financial advisors are dropping ESG [environmental, social, and governance] and DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] from their priorities. This is in response to an investor revolt. So here, we have consumers, investors, stockholders, and probably voters, too, ready to exercise whatever power we have left to right what has been made wrong, to better the world and not allow any more of our precious freedoms to slip away.
The most salient aspect of Mr. Anthony’s song is that it names the enemy: the rich men in Washington. Anyone who has visited in recent years encounters a scene straight from “The Hunger Games.” There's no suffering in District One, but only decadence and disregard for everyone else. The last time I went there, I visited a neighborhood on Capitol Hill where I once lived and barely recognized it. Then I realized why. The buildings on Massachusetts Avenue that used to be colonial brick all had massive new marble facades in the Greek and Roman style. They built all of these while the rest of the country was falling apart.
It really is pretty simple. The riches of the ruling class are coming at the expense of the working classes, the middle class, and the poor. Reality is more awful than the dystopias of fiction. It’s a combination of “The Hunger Games,” “Brave New World,” and “1984.” And they dare to prance around on TV and get profiles in articles as if they're heroes. These are the same people who want to segregate our cities by vaccine status and involuntarily jab multitudes of people.
In a country that imagines itself to be free, this is utterly unsustainable. The vaccine has caused untold amounts of harm and death. This is the shot they said would save us from a virus that turns out not to be a medically serious affliction for 99 percent of the population. As for the 1 percent of the vulnerable, we don’t really know the death rate because there has been so much bribed misclassification. It’s all a scandal for the ages, and the people are catching on.
Through this song and its wild success, we gain a vision of a true revolt that isn't just brewing but coming to full fruition in whatever way it can. The message is getting out there that this will no longer be tolerated. We don’t have to live under the yoke. We can throw it off. How precisely that ends up is hard to say, but cultural, economic, and political trends in this country are enough to send chills down the spines of the ruling classes.
The people can't take power back from the ruling class until they recognize that they must and also have a means to do so. In this case, there's a growing consciousness about the sovereignty of the people as consumers. We have dollars, even if they're declining in value. How we use them shapes industrial structures. We can send a message by driving a gripping protest song or movie to No. 1.
Just about the only way we can get through to elite circles is through the power we have as spenders and investors. Once enough people put their minds to it, we have the power to make and break empires. That realization is enough to gradually shift the weight of opinion and the use of society’s resources. Maybe if Hollywood makes enough "woke" flops, and enough independent filmmakers crash the local theaters, we can have an impact on the culture.
The final frontier of change comes through politics. Here we aren't as strong, but there are insurgent candidacies that are rattling the establishment. Here I don’t mean former President Donald Trump, and I say that with full awareness that the Democrats hate his guts. They also think they can beat him. They aren’t so sure about Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has a history of showing surprising strength among voters of all types.
Even more incredible has been the rise of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Now, here's a man and voice who utterly terrifies the Democrats, Big Pharma, Big Tech, the intelligence community, and the whole of the establishment as we know it. They want him to shut up. And now. But they're unable to accomplish this through the usual means.
Can the Democrats really ram through the nomination of the decrepit fool President Joe Biden, whom absolutely everyone knows isn't fit for office? If they do this, it could be the party’s last disaster. The system they built for themselves is fraying and weakening.
We're indeed living in a new world, but we have old souls. But I’m seeing the rise of an insurgency on all fronts. We need to make the new world the old world, and renew our souls with the salve of freedom.
Consider the Psalm read by Mr. Anthony at his Sunday farmers’ market performance:
“The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them. But the Lord laughs at the wicked for he knows their day is coming. The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.
“But their swords will pierce their own hearts and their bows will be broken. Better the little that have righteousness than the wealth of many wicked. For the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care and their inheritance will endure forever. In times of disaster, they will not wither and in days of famine, they will have plenty. But the wicked will perish.
“Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field, they will be consumed and they will go up in smoke.”

Hidden in the Thaddeus Kosciuszko monument's base, a sealed lead time capsule, measuring about one cubic foot, was discovered during recent renovations. Academy officials determined the capsule was placed in the base of the monument by cadets in 1828 . . . 26 years after the academy’s founding.
During an inspection in 2021, the column and base had structural cracks and the statue was removed and placed in storage. The capsule was found in 2023 when the monument's base was removed from the site. X-rays of the container conducted by West Point Physics and Nuclear Engineering were inconclusive.
“This time capsule is truly a unique discovery, and we are excited to open it and see what the cadets left us nearly two centuries ago,” said U.S. Military Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Steve Gilland. “The capsule’s contents will certainly add to the West Point story and is another example of past generations of cadets gripping hands with present and future generations.”

The following is for anyone who loves freedom and cherishes their lives. This is not for those who worship or serve at the altar of a federal government gone wild and one that has become disillusioned and intoxicated by its power, a power the Colonial States gave them, and we the people failed to hold in check over the years…
Though we pray for peace, we are not living in a time of peace, but rather in times of great peril. And though we go to sleep at night having survived another day, we wake up to a world reeking of the stench of deception, disinformation, and government corruption. Irrationality is never too far behind these three. If this isn’t enough, what was once up, is now down. What was once good, is now evil, and what was evil, is now good. Men can be women and women can be men, and if you insist on knowing the difference, it doesn’t matter. You are expected to participate in the lie, or you will be ostracized, perhaps even punished. All the while, we are being slowly cornered where it hurts most people, and that is financially. They want us to buy electric cars, but instead of letting the market decide, they make it so that gas prices are astronomical high, and gasoline driven cars are so policy driven now that they are expensive to purchase. In time they will outlaw gas cars as a way to force us into electric cars. Yes, that's the plan. And no, I am not opposed to new innovations, I just do not want to be told, or be forced, by government, to purchase what I may not want to purchase.
When the elite cannot persuade us, or coerce us, they find ways to force us into doing their bidding. What they don’t like, or feel threatened by, they get rid of, much like they did with the incandescent light bulb, free airwaves when ushering in high-definition television, and even presidents they have feared. Their most coveted goal is to rid us of our paper currency so that they will have total control over us, knowing down to the penny how we spent our money and where we spent it. And if by chance you are deemed an enemy of the state, they will be in a position to cut off your funds with a single prompt on their keyboard, leaving you high and dry. We cannot allow this to ever happen, no matter how technologically advanced we become as a nation. We must retain our autonomy and protect our paper currency, what’s left of it. They have already destroyed much of its value through wasteful government spending and by printing more of it, backed by nothing.
To date, some in America, have allowed the government free reign to have their way with us, in a cruel and macabre way, in the vein of Nazi Germany, by chipping away at our freedoms eroding our rights, and bearing down on us with the full weight of government power, this by an elite group of people who wield great power and influence in this New World Order cabal. In times like these, we must do what must be done, legally and morally, but it has to be done with conviction and backed up with action. Prayers alone are but one part of the solution. Each freedom lover must take a stand and with the courage and conviction of the Saints. Moses led the once enslaved Hebrews out of Egypt, which was ruled by a powerful Pharaoh. Mahatma Ghandhi led India to independence without firing a shot. Dr. Martin Luther King led the modern-day civil rights movement and he did it advocating peace, while effectively making great gains by way of civil disobedience. Are we any less inclined or committed in our passions and suffering that we continue to allow oligarchs to intimidate us and rule over our lives?
History, and the Word, has shown us the way to defeat evil. We must first expose it, then engage it, and then defeat it. Of most importance, we must have the faith, conviction, and courage to stand up to our oppressors. It helps our cause if we are united in this battle. It may even come down to one brave individual sent by the Father to dismantle and overthrow the Deep State, much like David stood tall and courageous against Goliath. The election in 2024 is it! And it is at this juncture in time that we must draw a line and let government and Corporate America, and the bias news media, including Hollywood, know that we are not putting up with their caustic policies and tyranny anymore. Be courageous like a lion, I say, and have the conviction of Job, and the faith of all the Saints. Only then will we be victorious!
On Being Like A Courageous Lion:
This is what the LORD says to me: “As a lion growls, a great lion over its prey— and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against it, it is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor— so the LORD Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights.” Isaiah 31:4

On Having Conviction:

On This Thing Called Faith:
“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith…” Hebrews 11:7

In closing, as we prepare to do battle with these demonic and evil people, let us all be humbled and go forth with the following mindset as we correct what is wrong with our nation and light up the darkness in the hearts of our oppressors…
